
The Graduate Studies Endowment Fund (GSEF) at the University of Waterloo was created by a graduate student referendum in 2001-2002 for the purpose of "funding an on-going commitment to enhance the learning, research, and overall experience of graduate students at the University."

Spring 2025 Funding Opportunities
Have an idea to enhance the academic or social experience for graduate students at UWaterloo? Submit an application for GSEF funding today! We have three funding streams available:

Apply to be the next GSEF Coordinator!
GSEF is looking to hire a new Coordinator to lead the Project Review Committee and Board meetings, develop new initiatives to address graduate student needs, and carry out the day-to-day affairs of GSEF. Please see the Coordinator Job Description for more details.
Interested candidates can submit their cover letter and CV to the Coordinator (Taronish Kotwall) at gsef@uwaterloo.ca, by February 28, 2025.

GSEF at Winter 2025 Grad Ready!
To welcome new and returning students back on campus, the Student Success Office (SSO) held a Winter 2025 Grad Ready Services Fair at the Student Life Centre with a self-guided icebreaker for students. GSEF set up a booth to meet new graduate students and provide free timbits!
